🍯Ingredients
For the Doughnuts:
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
½ cup warm milk
¼ cup melted butter
1 egg
½ tsp salt
Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
For the Filling:
For the Honey Glaze:
2 tbsp melted butter
2 tbsp milk
1 cup powdered sugar
Pinch of salt
🥣Directions
1. Make the Dough
In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
Add melted butter, egg, and salt. Stir to combine.
Add flour gradually, mixing until the dough comes together.
Knead on a lightly floured surface for 5–7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
2. Shape and Fry
Roll the dough to about ½-inch thickness.
Cut into circles using a biscuit cutter or glass.
Heat oil to 350°F.
Fry doughnuts 1–2 minutes per side, until golden.
Remove and drain on paper towels.
3. Fill the Doughnuts
Add the grape jam (or any of our jams & jellies) to a piping bag fitted with a long tip.
Poke a small hole in the side or top of each doughnut.
Pipe grape jam into the center until filled but not bursting.
4. Make the Honey Glaze
Whisk together powdered sugar, honey, melted butter, milk, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
Brush or dip each warm doughnut in the glaze.
