Ingredients

  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled

  • 2 tablespoons lavender honey syrup (adjust to taste)

  • 1/2 cup milk or milk alternative

  • Ice cubes

  • Culinary-grade dried lavender flowers (for the syrup and garnish)

  • 1/4 cup Fingerlakes Honey Company honey (for the syrup)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Brew Coffee: Prepare a strong coffee brew. Allow it to cool, then refrigerate until cold.

  2. Make Lavender Honey Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1/4 cup honey with 1/2 cup water and 1 tablespoon dried lavender flowers. Simmer for about 5 minutes, then remove from heat and let it steep for another 20 minutes.

  3. Strain out the lavender and cool the syrup.

  4. Assemble the Drink: Fill two tall glasses with ice. Pour half of the cold coffee into each glass.

  5. Sweeten: Drizzle one tablespoon (or more, to taste) of the lavender honey syrup into each glass of coffee.

  6. Add Milk: Pour 1/4 cup of milk into each glass.

  7. Garnish and Serve: Stir well. Garnish with a sprig of lavender or a twist of lemon peel. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Coffee Ice Cubes: For a stronger coffee flavor that doesn't get diluted, freeze some of your coffee in ice cube trays and use these instead of regular ice.

  • Cold Brew Concentrate: Use cold brew concentrate mixed with water instead of brewed coffee for a smoother taste.

  • Customize Your Milk: Experiment with different types of milk to find your preferred taste and texture. Creamier milks will make the drink richer.
