🍯Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage (casings removed)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/4 cup Fingerlakes Honey Company honey

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

  • 8 oz pasta (penne or spaghetti)

  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

🥣Directions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sausage, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, and cook for 5-7 minutes, until browned and cooked through.

  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

  4. Stir in the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using). Let the mixture simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and becomes sticky.

  5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the sticky sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Garnish with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese, if desired. Serve immediately.


Notes

  • Adjust the red pepper flakes to your preferred spice level.

  • For a gluten-free version, substitute the pasta with gluten-free penne or spaghetti.

  • If you don’t have apple cider vinegar, you can substitute with white vinegar or rice vinegar.
