Are these jams & jellies organic?
We use locally grown fruits from the Finger Lakes region that are grown without harmful pesticides or chemicals. While most of our fruits are grown using organic practices, we are not certified organic.
Is this product processed in an allergen-free facility?
All products are made in our farmhouse kitchen, which may contain dairy, wheat, and other potential allergens.
Are these made with sustainable ingredients?
Yes! We grow much of our fruit on our Finger Lakes farm and source additional fruit locally to ensure freshness and support sustainable farming practices. Our honey comes from our own hives, and pollinators play a vital role in both the honey and fruit production.
Why is a honey company selling jams & jellies?
Our jams & jellies are a natural extension of our honey products. Combining local fruits with our raw honey allows us to offer delicious, naturally sweet preserves while highlighting the flavors of the Finger Lakes region.
What’s the difference between jams and jelly?
Jams are made with fruit and have a semi-firm texture with small pieces of fruit or seeds. Jellies are made from fruit juice, have a firmer texture, and are uniform and seedless.
Contains added sugar?
No — they are naturally sweetened with our 100% raw honey.
Suitable for baking or cooking?
Absolutely! Our jams & jellies can be used in baking, sauces, glazes, salad dressings, or any recipe where you want a touch of natural sweetness.
How do I open a canning jar?
Lift the lid carefully using a bottle opener or by gently prying under the rim. Always check that the seal pops when first opening; if it doesn’t, do not consume.
What is the purpose of the pectin and monocalcium phosphate in your jams & jellies?
Pectin is a natural thickener extracted from citrus peels that helps our jams & jellies set without added sugar. Monocalcium phosphate is a food-grade mineral used to balance acidity and improve texture. Both are safe and commonly used in preserves.
Can I get jams or jellies as favors or in bulk?
Sorry no, we are unable to offer jams & jellies as favors at this time. We produce small batches using fresh fruit each harvest year to ensure quality and flavor.
Why is the ring not securely fastened on the jar I bought?
We ship our jams & jellies with the rings loose to protect the seal during shipping. This helps maintain the quality and safety of your jams & jellies.
Why should I loosen or remove the ring and not stack the jars when storing in the cupboard ?
Storing jars with the rings and stacking jars can create a compromised or false seal, making it seem like the jar is properly sealed when it’s not. To keep your jams & jellies safe and fresh, store them upright, remove the rings or keep them loose after purchase, and refrigerate after opening with the lid and ring on tight.
My jam or jelly looks strange—what should I do?
Our jams & jellies are made with natural ingredients, so slight variations in color, texture, or fruit pieces are normal and do not affect quality or taste. If you notice mold, an off smell, or anything that seems unsafe, do not consume it and discard the jar. Always store opened jars in the refrigerator and follow proper storage instructions to maintain freshness.
I can get jams and jellies cheaper at the store. Why should I buy yours?
Our jams & jellies are made in small batches using quality, locally sourced ingredients, so you know where your food comes from. Unlike many store-bought options loaded with refined sugar and preservatives, ours are naturally sweetened with our own 100% raw honey. When you buy from us, you’re choosing a fresher, more honest product that supports local farming and a small, community-centered business — and yes, you can taste the difference.
